We’re close to NYC – but we’re not NYC. ough many of us may have come to Westchester because of proximity, we’ve emerged from beyond the shadows of the big city into a full-fledged, respectable economy of our own. And, we want you to know that our Westchester County Office of Economic Development is committed to seeing your business thrive here.
is year we have seen the return of Element 46, the County’s startup business accelerator. Our cohort aligns with our economic development strategy in that the entire class consists of technology startups. Our Launch1000 Program has, to date, over 350 startups working across the County and beyond.
e Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator added another cohort of 12 startups. To-date, the program participants have raised more than $17 million in funding and have created 62 full-time and 62 part-time jobs.
We also launched the DIG Program, a competitive program in which
five municipalities were selected to undergo a market analysis on improvements to their downtowns. e County will contribute a match on the implementation of the improvements this year.
We are committed to maintaining equity, diversity and inclusion in all of our communities. Our events bring together minority and women-owned businesses, and service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses. Led
by the continued expansion of Regeneron, our Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has incentivized expansions of both small and large companies.
