2024. This breathtaking property
is named for the du Pont ancestral home in France. Alfred I. du
Pont (1864–1935) employed the      Hastings to design the 77-room mansion built between 1909-1910. The manicured grounds surrounding the mansion extend for one third of a mile along the main vista from the house and are among the largest      gardens in the United States.

4 Set in the Brandywine Valley’s rolling hills, the Mt. Cuba Center is a 650-acre horticultural
gem, open seasonally from early April through mid- November. It is known for spectacular woodland          estate of Mr. and Mrs. Lammot du Pont Copeland. Both the Copelands showed an interest and enthusiasm
for plants and gardening. With the help of several prominent landscape architects and designers, they        garden, the Round Garden, a pond, and several garden paths. Today, the Mt. Cuba Center is a treasure of conservation as well as beauty and inspiration.
