The 90th running of the Radnor
Hunt Races is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2020. Radnor celebrates the storied tradition of steeplechasing
in the Brandywine Valley. Fancy
hats, festive tailgates and an antique carriage parade meet exhilarating thoroughbred racing for a day of elegance, excitement and fun! All proceeds from the Radnor Hunt Races benefit the land and water preservation programs of the Brandywine Conservancy in Chadds Ford, PA.
TRIP TIP: Plan on lunch, brunch
or dinner at The Whip Tavern, a favorite, cozy British-style pub in the heart of Chester County’s equestrian landscape. Horse farms line the countryside along the way, making the journey to this pub as delightful as the experience. Try a pint of For Fox Sake hard cider; not only is it delicious,
but a portion of the proceeds
supports the open space efforts of the Brandywine Conservency. A toast
to all who help protect the nearby landscape and environment!
Devon Horse Show
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is one of the nation’s leading equestrian events. Beginning Thursday, May 21 and running through May 31, 2020, Devon is the oldest and largest outdoor multi- breed horse show in the country. While drawing competitors from around the world, Devon epitomizes

the local traditions and lifestyles of the famed Main Line. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is
10 days of enjoyment and features jumpers, carriages, saddlebreds plus a full Country Fair with food, a Ferris wheel and over 40 shops. TRIP TIP: Other events are held at the Devon Horse Show grounds, including Dressage at Devon, September 22 through 27, 2020.
Brandywine Polo Club
As spring gives way to summer, polo takes the lead. Nestled in the heart of the countryside is the 100-plus-acre Brandywine Polo Club (BPC), one of the oldest polo organizations on the East Coast. The BPC polo season begins on Sunday, May 31, 2020
with Horses & Horsepower. Sunday polo matches run June through September. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. TRIP TIP: Picnic brunch, anyone?
Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show
Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show and Country Fair is fun for the entire family. Held Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Labor Day Weekend, September 5 through 7, 2020,
the show has been a Labor Day tradition for generations of families for over 75 years. In addition to the rider competition in three rings, there will be horse-drawn carriage demonstrations, food, crafts,
pony rides, entertainment and a variety of vendors.
TRIP TIP: Don't miss the ever-popular Ludwig’s Corner Antique Car Show on Labor Day Monday.
Plantation Field International Horse Trials
From September 17 through 20, 2020, the Plantation Field International Horse Trials bring
top event horses and riders from throughout the country together in beautiful Unionville, PA to compete. In addition to the competition, guests enjoy a robust vendor village and a terrific tailgating atmosphere along the country course.
