JOHN “JACK” MULVENA ’79: Recently welcomed a grandson, Quinton.
ERWIN J. JUDA ’73: Retired from his practice of podiatric medicine and surgery in Christiana and also from his position
held for 21 years as Assistant Professor at Temple University’s Department of Medicine and Foot and Ankle Institute. During his tenure, he served on Temple’s Admissions Committee, was a course director in physical diagnosis and also lab instructor for the cadaver surgery course.
1960s
THOMAS CAHILL ’69: Thomas “T.J.” Cahill has published his latest book: Dear Prisoner, a novella. The book focuses on three individuals connected by three powerfully different types of loneliness.
CHARLES DUNLAP ’68: Charlie was honored by the St. Joseph’s University Law Alumni as the recipient of the Honorable Francis X. McClanaghan ’27 Award, which recognizes an alumnus in honor of his accomplishments in the field of law.
VANCE FUNK ’60: Vance’s ongoing passionate commitment to keeping the city
of Newark, Delaware clean was featured in
a recent story by The News Journal. Vance,
a real estate attorney in Newark, previously served as the city’s mayor for 10 years. Of note, Vance has donated his entire salary back to local charitable organizations.

 Will Fetters ’99 received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on A Star is Born. Will       and co-star, Bradley Cooper; the       look forward to providing more detailed coverage in the next Distinguished Gentleman.
    Ray Peden ’73 (sunglasses on top of head) and Sid Cassidy ’74 (wearing hat) have been selected       the upcoming Olympic trials in the sport of open-water swimming. The open-water swimming competition is a 10K (6.2-mile) event usually held in a lake setting.
 BRETT STEWART ’99: Wrote a song entitled “Needle & Spoon” and was recently featured on the popular hit show So You Think You Can Dance. The song appears on his first album, Necessary Lies.
DAVID KELLY ’95: Co-wrote the recently released Robin Hood film featuring stars Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton. He is currently writing for the script of Grant, based on the best-selling Ulysses S. Grant biography by Ron Chernow.
JOEL TANNENBAUM, PHD ’93: Joel is a professor at the Community College of Philadelphia and was recently recognized by the Presbyterian Historical Society
for engaging his classes in semester-long collaborative research with the society.
1980s
PAUL COLUMBUS ’85: Is a pilot for American Airlines and a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He has flown more than 50 combat missions over Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria and also earned two Air medals in three deployments: 2015, 2017 and 2018. Paul has two children: daughter Jamy, 11, and son Nick, 15.
