KASAI GUTHRIE ’16: Announced his candidacy for mayor of Newark, DE and will challenge incumbent mayor Polly Sierer in the upcoming election. Kasai is currently a student at the University of Delaware.

Delaware, Kyle
was chosen by the
Kansas City Royals
in the 16th round of
the Major League
Baseball First-Year
Player draft. He was recently promoted to the Wilmington Blue Rocks, which is the Royals’ advanced Class A affiliate, placing him just three steps away from playing for the majors.
MICHAEL SANZONE ’15: A lacrosse midfielder at Canisius College, Michael is back to competing after he collapsed during an endurance test with the Army’s ROTC program. Michael spent 13 days in critical care at Hardin Memorial Hospital and additional time in recovery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has been named captain of the Canisius lacrosse team for the 2019 season.
TROY REEDER ’14: Was named Colonial Athletic Association’s defensive player of the week after the University of Delaware beat No. 5 — Elon — on Saturday, October 13.
BRIAN O’NEILL ’13: Was drafted in 2017 by the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, where he plays right tackle. Brian gained national attention when he ranked as the fastest among all offensive linemen at the 2018 NFL Combine drills.

MATTHEW DUNLEVY ’09: Matt and his wife, Chelsea, welcomed their first child, daughter Peyton, on November 14, 2018.
NICHOLAS KLEIN ’09: Nick and his wife Vienna welcomed Rhys Klein, born October 1, 2018.
TIMOTHY SMITH ’09: Tim and his wife, Anna, welcomed their new baby son, Michael Patrick Smith, on August 14, 2018.
DEREK WARING ’09: Derek married Katie Redstone (Caravel ’09) on December 22, 2018 at St. Catherine of Siena in Wilmington. The couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii.
JOSHUA “JOSH” HYMAN ’08: On December 28, 2018, married Hannah Cowan at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Hotel DuPont’s Gold Ballroom. The couple spent their honeymoon on Tikehau, a French Polynesian island.
DANIEL LAROSA ’06: Welcomed the birth of his son, Leo, on November 14, 2018.

COLBE KLEIN ’04: In May, Colbe and
his wife, Mallory, welcomed their new baby boy, Theo.

ERIC NEGRON ’01: Eric and his wife, Katie, welcomed the birth of their daughter, Adrian Wilfred Negron.
CHRISTOPHER WIGGINS ’00: Chris was named as a member of the Team USA Rugby 30-man train-on squad for the 2018 Americas Championship, which will also act as a qualifier for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in England.
