Welcome a New Year
Oakwood Friends School
Welcome to Oakwood! As Oakwood Friends School begins 2022, the health and safety of the Oakwood community continues to inform the programming conducted in
the ample classroom and socially distanced instructional spaces that we implemented with the Fall 2020 semester. Thanks
to a rigorously trained faculty and staff, Oakwood’s flexible, individualized program has adapted extremely successfully to supporting the boarding and day students socially, emotionally, and academically — whether at the school five days a week
or working remotely — and healthfully on campus. The 55-acre campus has been re- envisioned with several outdoor classroom spaces, a renovated theater, four-season greenhouse, newly constructed classrooms, and modified schedules. Extracurriculars and
(over $80 million raised), major building renovations, and the construction of a new counseling center, dining hall, girls dormitory, and solar field. Plans are moving forward
to build a new boys dormitory and add a field house to the athletic center. The best measure of Millbrook’s successes, however, are the accomplishments of its students — New England Boys Soccer and Boys Tennis Championship teams, Girls Squash New England Champions, the 2019 Boys Soccer Gatorade State Player of the Year, New England Young Writers honorees, national award-winning artists, and accomplished graduates matriculating at top universities like Princeton, Stanford, Dartmouth, and Northwestern. It’s the perfect time to be a Millbrook Mustang!
