EXPERIENCES
Do something adventurous. Do something unexpected. And go home with a great story to tell.
SIP YOUR WAY THROUGH THE VINTAGE ATLANTIC WINE REGION
Four states. Six trails. More than 60 wineries. Wilmington is surrounded by vineyards. Start your tasting journey along wine trails that begin just 15 minutes outside the city. Sip, stay and explore dynamic new wineries in the Brandywine Valley, the Eastern Shore of Maryland and New Jersey’s Outer Coastal Plain.
CATCH A FEW CHUKKERS AT
BRANDYWINE POLO
The sport of kings is played on Sundays from June through September at the Brandywine Polo Club. Bring your own picnic and libations for some tailgating fun, but be ready to keep an eye on the action. Save a beer for the riders
if you want to make a friend after the game.
FOLLOW THE PATH OF
THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD
The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway charts the most dramatic protest action against slavery in United States history. At its peak between 1830–1865, the Underground Railroad’s eastern passage cut straight through Delaware, on the road toward freedom in Pennsylvania. Multiple stops throughout Delaware, including the New Castle Court House Museum, chart its course and pay respect to the past.
