CARMEL The great room and kitchen were completely ren- ovated in this country home in Carmel. The deep green chosen for the cabinets echoes the lush Hudson Valley views, visible through the expansive windows and walls of glass. A custom aca- cia table with black legs was used to tie in with the other dark elements such as the pendant lights an dark grout.

SCARSDALE This historic home once belonged to Hollywood gossip colum- nist Walter Winchell. In a two-and-a-half-year reno- vation, the house was taken down to the studs, and
the kitchen was expanded to include a large island with seating for five and
a separate breakfast area. The black Blue Star range and matching custom hood provide striking contrast with the cabinetry in Benjamin Moore’s Rockport Gray. Brass accents on the range, hood, hardware, and lighting lend a vintage feel to the space.
