estchester County is home to more than 170 companies and a labor force of more than 520,000. Our Office of Economic Development is committed to maintaining a pipeline of qualified talent and continues to work with partners throughout the County to ensure the needs of existing businesses are being met.
One of Westchester County’s fastest-growing sectors is advanced manufacturing. Westchester County has teamed up with SUNY Westchester Community College to offer an Advanced Manufacturing Career Training Program to expand the talent pipeline enabling advanced manufacturing companies in Westchester to continue to grow.
Westchester County is proud to see the success of programs like Launch1000 that help budding entrepreneurs get off the ground. Launch1000 is a fully remote, self-paced program designed to turn concepts and ideas into business plans and startups. This year, we’ve added a bilingual cohort, allowing participants to be supported by coaches and mentors in both English and Spanish.
As we continue to move forward, we are proud to build on the momentum of Westchester’s booming healthcare sector. Westchester County has partnered with the Westchester County Association’s Healthcare Talent Pipeline Program (HTPP) to recruit, train and place up to 100 job seekers with healthcare employers over a 12-month period. This program seeks to serve individuals with barriers to employment and employers with significant talent shortages. The HTPP program expects to train 100 Certified Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants, and Medical Administrative Assistants.
