WESTCHESTER
HARRISON: Established in 1696, Harrison is convenient to shopping, restaurants, rec- reation, entertainment, public transporta- tion and more. One of the more unexpected food finds is Quenas Restaurant on Hal- stead Avenue. Here, you can dine on Peru- vian cuisine and also explore Creole flavors.
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON: This artsy vil- lage with an inviting, walkable downtown is one of six villages in the town of Green- burgh. Nestled in hills along the Hudson, with amazing views of the Palisades and Manhattan, Hastings serves as a primary shooting location for the HBO series Divorce for how it represents quintessential subur- ban America.
IRVINGTON: An affluent village of Green- burgh, historic Irvington was renamed after one of its most famous residents, author Washington Irving. With a population of more than 6,000, Irvington has a warm, inviting village square with unsurpassable views of the Hudson. Irvington is also home to the Irvington Town Hall Theater, which includes theatrical, musical, and film events

throughout the year. Locals are encouraged to share their scripts for readings during the theater’s January Stage Door Series.
LARCHMONT: A village in the town of Mamaroneck, Larchmont spans 1.1 square miles in Southern Westchester with views of Long Island Sound. Made famous by count- less references in American television and cinema, Larchmont has come to represent the pinnacle of upscale suburban living. Taking full advantage of the village’s water- front location, Larchmont is also home to one of the most unique farmers’ markets in the county, open May through December on Saturdays.
LEWISBORO: Located in the northeastern part of the county, Lewisboro is known for its elaborate gardens, many located right in the public traffic triangles. Lewisboro is home to the Onatru Reservation for scouts and the Alice Lane Poor Wildlife Preserve.
MAMARONECK: This town’s large inland harbor offers water-sports enthusiasts many ways to enjoy the stunning views of
the Long Island Sound. Mamaroneck Boats & Motors, just one of a number of options, is a full-service marina, which offers dry sail, dock space, and winter storage.
MOUNT KISCO: Between Bedford and New Castle, Mount Kisco has quiet, residential neighborhoods and a bustling downtown brimming with stores, boutiques, and more than 40 eateries, including the trendy Exit 4 Food Hall, offering a tantalizing va- riety of choices for foodies. Meanwhile, Northern Westchester Hospital’s recent af- filiation with North Shore-LIJ Health Sys- tem, known as Phelps Hospital Northwell Health, brings myriad medical specialties to the area.
MOUNT PLEASANT: With a population of more than 40,000, the town of Mount Pleasant is located in the center of the county with the Kensico Reservoir and the Hudson River marking its east and west borders. Amid a rolling countryside, Mount Pleasant includes a thousand acres of park- land preserved by the Rockefellers with trails and gardens available to residents. Its villages and hamlets include Valhalla, Haw- thorne, Thornwood, Pleasantville, Sleepy Hollow and a piece of Briarcliff Manor.
NEW CASTLE: From simple Quaker roots, New Castle has gradually evolved into one of Westchester’s most exclusive townships. Landlocked in the center of Westchester, it includes the hamlet of Chappaqua within its borders. Chappaqua got national at- tention when the Clintons made it their home after leaving the White House.
NORTH CASTLE: Three hamlets comprise the town of North Castle. Each with its own character, Armonk, Banksville, and North White Plains provide bucolic settings, inviting neighborhoods, and a business district with cozy cafes, and one-of-a-kind shops, along with professional offices.
NORTH SALEM: Located in the upper northeast corner of the county, the town of North Salem is an archetype of country living. With a peaceful, rural atmosphere, North Salem has rolling hills, open fields, and lakes. It has the lowest population density in the county, while the horse population rivals the number of people.
