Teatown is a 1,000-acre nonprofit nature preserve and environmental education center, with 15 miles of hiking trails, a two-acre island refuge home to over 230 species of native wildflowers, year-round programming, wildlife exhibits, and an educational sensory garden. Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park

Located in the Taconic region of northern Westchester County, the park offers a day of fun and relaxation. Spacious picnic areas, which can accommodate individual families as well as large groups, may be reserved in advance. Along with boating and outdoor activities, the park offers a pool twice the size of an Olympic pool, with a capacity of 3,500 people.

by Groundwork Hudson Valley, is a self- powered, off-the-grid floating greenhouse, serving as an environmental education classroom. Open to the public on weekends for tours, the hands-on-educational programs provide children and adults the opportunity to learn about urban ecology, renewable energy and the unique ecosystem of the Hudson River. Additionally, the greenhouse demonstrates how to grow fruits and vegetables without the use of soil in an urban setting, while using no pesticides
