There is, of course, always room for another brewery in the Hudson Valley. How about two?
DESTINATION UNKNOWN BEER COMPANY
65 4 Corners Road, Warwick destinationunknownbeercompany.com
The latest addition to Warwick’s burgeoning brewery scene is DUBCO Acres, the Orange County offshoot of Long Island’s popular Destination Unknown Beer Company. Owners Chris and Jennifer Candiano purchased the 50-acre property known as Thankful Acres Farm, which dates back to 1752, and converted the dairy barn into a kitschy tap room complete with a sleek marble top bar, comfortable animal-print armchairs, and even a baby grand piano. There’s also an outdoor patio space and picnic tables set up along the property’s rolling hills. “We’re lucky to have the opportunity to be the shepherds of this historic farm,” says Chris, who began brewing beer in his friend’s garage a decade ago and has churned out close to 300 different varieties since then. “We’re excited to bring it back to its full potential.”
For IPA fans, there’s the award-winning Cosmic Continuum, a NEIPA brewed with Cryo Pop Hop blend and Cosmic Punch yeast that took Gold at the 2022 TAP NY Craft Beer & Food Festival. Ale lovers will enjoy their Four Corners Farmhouse Ale—a saison released in honor of their Warwick opening that pays homage to the French immigrants who began farming
in the area 250 years ago. And on the lighter side, you’ll find DUB Light (a 4.5 percent ABV lager whose name is a tongue- in-cheek riff on another well-known brew) and bestseller Waikiki Wheat, with notes of hibiscus and guava. Not a beer fan? They also offer hard seltzer, sangria, wine, and mead—a centuries-old beverage made by fermenting honey, yeast, and water. A rotating roster of food trucks (ROAM, Beer Pockets BBQ, and Super Nacho to name a few) are on site, as well
as the permanently parked Buddy Bistro, which serves up sliders and quesadillas. There’s live music on Sundays, and on September 23, they’ll host DUBTOBERFEST, featuring several local breweries and German fare.

LASTING JOY BREWERY
485 Lasher Road, Tivoli

Lasting Joy opened its doors in at the end of June—and it is indeed a joy. This hip hotspot was founded by Alex and Emily Wenner, high school sweethearts who moved from Brooklyn
to the HV a few years back (yes that Wenner, Alex’s dad Jann
is the co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine). The couple
says the brewery was named after their hopes for their family business: “No matter the outcome, pursuing [our] dream of brewing excellent beer and serving it in a welcoming and inclusive taproom will bring [us] and others lasting joy.” There are currently four varieties on tap (English beet stout, hazy IPA, Czech pilsner, and Belgian wheat) as well as seasonal releases and wine, cider, and spirits from local producers. The brewery has New York State Farm Brewery status, meaning all the
hops, malt, and other ingredients are sourced from NYS-based partners. What’s very impressive about this newcomer is the tasting room: a modern, open pavilion constructed of glass and metal that overlooks 31 acres of fields and woods. While the exterior is dark steel, the timber-framed interior is warm and flooded with natural light. There’s a central floating bar (with 12 taps), and wood tables, sofas, and lounge chairs throughout the space. This is a perfect spot to visit on a sunny summer day—the outdoor area features plenty of Adirondack chairs, picnic benches, and food truck pop-ups.
