What We Do
Culinary School:
Provides free job training to unemployed
and underemployed individuals. This 14-week program includes 12 weeks of hands-on train- ing in basic and high-end kitchen skills, safe food handling and life skills. The 12-week training culminates with a two-week internship at a food service company, restaurant or catering business.
L.O.G.I.C. (Logistics, Operations, General Warehousing, Inventory and Control):
A free 11-week training program, certified as a trade school by the Delaware Department of Education, that prepares students for careers in the warehousing/logistics industry. Students train in the warehouse of the Food Bank of Delaware in Newark. Students learn to use major equipment like end riders,
lift trucks, order pickers and pallet jacks. Students have the opportunity to receive OSHA-10 and forklift certification.

The Food Bank of Delaware has been providing emergency food assistance and outreach services to the community since 1981.
The Food Bank of Delaware also provides workforce development opportunities to adults in the areas of food service and warehousing/logistics. Our programs are certified as trade schools by the Delaware Department of Education.
All training programs are free thanks to generous supporters.
