  SHIPWRECK OF THE FAITHFUL STEWARD
& COIN BEACH
An Irish immigrant ship sank off the shore of the Indian River Inlet
in 1785. The beach in front of the wreck has been dubbed “Coin Beach” because of the many foreign pennies found there. The pennies with King George’s face on them were either clipped or a hole poked through King George’s nose to poke fun at the King for sending the enemy coinage.

Cannonball House
Cannonball House is known for being struck by British cannon fire during the War of 1812. The structure (c. 1765) now serves as a maritime history museum, holding more than 375 years of nautical history. 302-645-7670 | www.historiclewes.org
The Milford Museum
Permanent exhibits include local historic events from the 1700s to present, shipbuilding, and local businesses. Other exhibits include an historic doll collection, Victorian silverware, Delaware ladybugs, and early Milford baseball. 302-424-1080 | www.milforddemuseum.org
Days Gone By Museum
This nostalgic museum in Woodland focuses on the town’s ancestry and the historic Woodland Ferry. Artifacts include vintage Ford tractors, carpenter’s tools, wringer washing machines, and more. Call for appointment. 302-629-9889.
Bethel Heritage Museum
Close to the banks of the scenic Broad Creek, Bethel’s shipbuilding history is preserved through exhibits, ship models, paintings, furniture, china, and records of shipbuilding enterprises. Call for museum hours and exhibit info. 302-875-3974.

Delaware Seaside Railroad Club
Visitors are welcome at the clubhouse, which features multiple interactive layouts. Hours are 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 5 – 8 p.m. Admission is free. 302-945-1627 | www.delawareseasiderailroadclub. com
Treasures of the Sea Museum
