Soak up Southern Delaware’s arts scene. Visit galleries and studio tours, attend arts festivals, watch artists at work, and visit art leagues for hands-on experiences.
WORKING STUDIOS
There are many opportunities to become fully immersed in Southern Delaware’s arts scene. The Delaware By Hand organization has an “Artists and Artisans of Delaware State Driving Tour Map” with more than 80 artisan studios listed statewide, and nearly 40 studios located in Southern Delaware (www.delawarebyhand.org).
One of those artists, Deb Appleby (pictured at right), a glassmaker who owns The Studio on 24, invites visitors into her gallery by appointment. The Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio Tour is held every Thanksgiving weekend and provides attendees with the opportunity to enter studios and galleries for a one-of-a-kind experience.
