Happiness Survey
National Study Ranks Construction No. 1 as Happiest Sector of the U.S. Workforce

A recently conducted employee satisfaction survey identified the happiest — and unhappiest — industries* in 2023, based on average employer net promoter score (eNPS).
Of the leading industries of the U.S. economy surveyed and analyzed, construction ranked No. 1 as the happiest industry. (Source: BambooHR)
To cite six of the many reasons:
• Construction is among the least volatile sectors of the economy.
• Construction tradesmen and women are well paid for their craft and skill.
• Construction workers tend to agree from month to month, with little range in their average eNPS, recommending this line of work to others.
• Construction workers are team-driven and goal-oriented. • There are clearly defined objectives to achieve
mission fulfillment.
• Construction workers spend much less time on
computer screens and smart phones than average workers — and less time exposed to annoying social media.
