   A HARBOR WORKHORSE
Rising above Rukert Terminals’ Pier 5 facility,
the PECO bulk unloader crane is a landmark for all who work on and enjoy Baltimore’s harbor. Forged in red steel, 125 feet tall and marked
with the Rukert name and an American flag, the now iconic crane stands watch over the Canton shoreline. The PECO crane was the last step
and jewel in the crown of the Pier 5 expansion started in the late 1970s. Once erected, the high-speed crane became the engine of Rukert Terminals, powering a new era of exponential growth. Since the PECO came into service
in 1982, Rukert Terminals’ annual sales have increased by 975 percent. Still going strong after nearly 40 years, the Clinton Street stalwart is a physical embodiment of the Rukert spirit.
