THE QUEENS DINING SCENE
A FOODIE’S GUIDE TO CITI FIELD
Thankfully, a trip to a baseball game no longer confines your dining choices to pretzels, beer, and hotdogs! Ballpark food has come a long way — and since its opening in 2009, Citi Field has been leading the pack for diverse and delicious stadium eats.
One unique aspect of Citi Field’s food presentation is that all of the bases are covered before even getting to
the specialty New York eateries. Citi Field comes as close to sampling the best of the city as any ballpark and is regarded as a top culinary destination in the sports and entertainment field. The stadium also features the Taste of Queens dining option, offering delicious and exciting local food each season. Every six weeks, the lineup rotates to feature different Queens small food businesses.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce is excited to
have helped two local businesses secure space in this culinary hot spot: The Nourish Spot, a fresh and healthy cold-pressed juice and smoothie bar, and Chiddy’s Cheesesteaks, which was established in 2014 as a food truck and grew into a storefront — and was recently voted best cheesesteak on Long Island. Both businesses are opening new spots around Queens.
The Nourish Spot was established in 2016 when Dawn Kelly and her daughter Jade made the decision to pivot away from corporate and non-profit work and into
the entrepreneurial world. Dawn’s passion and driving principles have made her a leader in this space, where she mentors other entrepreneurs. Dawn was thrilled that
The Nourish Spot was able to provide food and beverage service at the Taste of Queens cart at CitiField from
July to September 2023. “I sincerely thank Kevin Kim [Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services] for being a champion for NYC small businesses, and I’m grateful to Thomas Grech and The Queens Chamber of Commerce for giving me the chance to shoot my shot!”
