QUEENS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
CONNECTING QUEENS TO THE WORLD
The Queens Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory has historically been a special publication. For Chamber members, it was a printed directory that was used year-round as a quick reference guide if a Queens business needed a product or service. Entering our 112th year, the Chamber continues its 11th decade representing and advocating for the businesses in the community of Queens.
In the spirit of access and tradition, we are reintroducing the Queens Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory, in print and online, to highlight the most important aspect of our organization: YOU!
Over the past few years, we have increased our efforts to connect our members to each other, to New York City and New York State public resources, and to the business community at large. This was accomplished by further engaging the Queens NYC Council Members, increasing discretionary funding as well as pursuing new opportunities through our work with the NYC Small Business Services. We have expanded our relationships in the MWBE sector and fully support NYC and NYS efforts in this area. Further, we now have in place an annual Queens Day in Albany event, not only for Queens Assembly and Senate delegations, but also to make sure the entire State of New York knows of our arrival and leadership in travel, tourism, trade, transportation, real estate, and healthcare.
We now have 13 new member committees: Arts and Entertainment; Banking and Law; Communications; Energy and Environmental; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Family-Owned Businesses; Food, Beverage and Hospitality; Healthcare and Wellness; Manufacturing; Not for Profit; Real Estate; Technology; and Transportation. As home to seven colleges and universities, with more than 90,000 students, the Queens Chamber believes we are a fulcrum to harness the power of the academic world and the business community here in Queens.
One important way that the Queens Chamber engages our members and stakeholders is through events and seminars. In 2019, we organized more than 320 paid events and complimentary seminars throughout the borough. We are bringing these opportunities to areas in Queens where our previous coverage has not been up to par. From Astoria to Rockaway, St. Albans to Whitestone, Long Island City to Jamacia, and everywhere in between, the Queens Chamber is helping businesses grow and prosper by offering our expertise and knowledge, access to capital, and introductions to business leaders. Even during the height of the COVID pandemic, we had hundreds of Zoom calls and meetings.
We are proud of our talented and diverse workforce, which gives businesses that are based here a wonderful advantage. We encourage regional, national, and global firms to relocate here to due our proximity to millions of residents, tens of thousands of suppliers and partners, as well as our unmatched support here at the Chamber. We look forward to more and more people coming to live, work, and play in Queens and living their own American dream.
As the most ethnically diverse place on Earth, the Queens Chamber of Commerce will continue to unify, connect, and live by the words E pluribus unum, the traditional motto of the United States of America: “Out of many, one.”
If you are a member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, thank you for your support. If you have not yet decided, please call us for a personal introduction to our staff, our services, and all that we have to offer!
