Initiatives
In the near term, the Council is seeking to build community through events, engaging and educating elected officials, working to expand tech education, and promoting existing startups in the borough. Longer-term initiatives include establishing incubators, creating an investment fund and hosting an annual conference.
Our Partners

These include representatives from Amazon, Google, Facebook, Pursuit, LIC Partnership, Lyft, Microsoft, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, Cornell Tech, Crown Castle and The Business Incubator Association of New York State.

The Tech Incubator at Queens College
Located in a 7,000-sq-ft building on the 80-acre campus of Queens College in Flushing, The Tech Incubator at Queens College (TIQC) is a place for entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable businesses.
Supported by the New York City Council, TIQC aims to help startup companies and entrepreneurs to build successful tech-enabled companies, which in turn creates more job opportunities and drives innovation and technology development.
Startups at TIQC receive access to a network of business advisors, interns, accounting support, and other companies creating a hotbed of energy and innovation. TIQC’s on-campus location enables entrepreneurs to interact with a wealth of faculty, staff and students from diverse departments, such as computer science and media studies, as well as from various research centers.
Additional amenities include a full range of athletic and cultural activities available on-campus. A limited amount of on-campus housing is also available.
TIQC is especially interested in entrepreneurs who have tech-oriented ideas that they want to see commercialized.
