We also expanded our annual Community-Nominated Small Business Grants to include Hero Awards to twenty first responders and essential workers. Having our community involved in the nomination process allowed people to express their appreciation for the essential workers in their lives.
As a local bank, we are a small business, and we know how hard it is to compete against the larger corporate financial institutions.
Small businesses are important to
the economic prosperity of Queens and we are always here to support and advocate for them.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce has been with us along the way, providing so much in the way of networking and advocacy for us and all its members.
We were pleased to partner with the Queens Chamber to give back
to small businesses via a mentorship program that we spearheaded.
This program allowed us to sponsor small businesses and cover their membership fees, which in turn
gives them access to an incredible amount of valuable resources to help them thrive.
Looking ahead, we are happy to be through this difficult time and are looking forward to celebrating our 75th Anniversary next year.
We’ll continue to focus on digital innovations and enhance our products & services. We are also returning to a full roster of free community events like concerts, movie nights, car shows and our Smile on Maspeth Community Day!
“Our mission is to provide building loans to the communities we serve and that means staying with borrowers through good times and bad. Queens was one of the hardest hit boroughs. We responded to
the needs of our community.”
