Another Year in the Books
Although this has been another taxing year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCFA has much to be grateful for.
We were fortunate to add to the NCFA team by bringing on both Ms. Jill Bite and Mr. Mike Powell — as Business Manager and Director of Forestry Programs, respectively. These two highly skilled professionals are an excellent addition to the Association. I hope everyone will take a few minutes to welcome them to the family.
Earlier this year, the NCFA Board of Directors approved a new Strategic Plan. The NCFA and its members have already begun diligently working towards achieving the goals set forth in the plan. (The goals were also outlined in the previous edition of the TreeLine magazine.) On August 31, the NCFA Executive Committee and our committee chairs met with NCFA staff to discuss accomplishments and plans. It was a productive meeting, and we look forward to updating you on our strategic plan accomplishments in future editions.
In closing, I hope you will take the time to read this edition in its entirety. While we have not yet returned to “normal,” our members and the team at NCFA have worked hard this year to make 2021 successful. We all look forward to returning to a normal schedule of events in 2022.
In Forestry,
John E. Hatcher, Jr., Ph.D., CF
