   COMMUNICATIONS CONVERSATION
       THINK ON THIS:
4,800 people see NCFA’s advocacy, education, and safety posts every single day.
Social Media – Followers and Engagement Growing
The communications
team, including Director of Communications Amanda Murphy and interns Abigail Ridge and Kristen Fontana, has been hard at work on social media over the past couple of months. We currently have more than 300 posts scheduled
in advance, with campaigns ranging from member visit photos to historic content like the NCFA’s constitution, and reasons why you should join the NCFA.
We have 950 more followers on our platforms today than we did a year ago, a 25% increase. Our growth on social is quite impressive.
Intern Promotion through NCSU College of Natural Resources Publication
Amanda Murphy worked with the NCSU College of Natural Resources to get an article written and published about our two awesome interns, Abigail Ridge and Kristen Fontana:
Not Your Average Summer: Promoting North Carolina’s Forests. Two College of Natural Resources students discuss their North Carolina Forestry Association internship experiences. Four New Videos Posted
Four videos went live since our last update. They highlighted Mike Cheston with Canfor Southern Pine, Chris Charest with Culp Lumber, Rob Elliot with Pactiv Evergreen, and Nancy Thompson with Weyerhaeuser. All participants did a fantastic job explaining what the NCFA means to them and their organizations in North Carolina. Check out the videos on our YouTube page.
Virtual Panel – NC Forestry
and the Global Economy
The NCFA Communications and Education team held our third virtual panel on Thursday, October 28. If you missed it, the recording is available on our YouTube page. The NCFA held a lively conversation about North Carolina forestry and the global economy. We answered questions on forest exports, marketing forest products, our state’s national ranking, export challenges, and the future of exporting for forestry in North Carolina. Stay tuned for more panels to come in 2022.
