Second ProLogger Base Course a Success
The NCFA hosted the second ProLogger base course of 2023 at Montgomery Community College on May 31 and June 1.
Through a long-held partnership with stakeholders, including the Forestry Mutual Insurance Company, the NC Forest Service, NC State Highway Patrol, NC Department of Labor,
and Montgomery Community College, 27 new ProLoggers were successfully trained.
Training topics included forest management and BMP implementation, highway safety and weight regulations, OSHA safety and compliance, certification programs, and production and profitability in the business of logging.

Truck Driver Safety and Appreciation Day
The North Carolina Forestry Association, Carolina Loggers Association, Forestry Mutual Insurance Company (FMIC), Jordan Lumber, and Vestige View Solutions (Vestige) recently held a Truck Driver Appreciation Day at the Jordan Lumber facility in Mt. Gilead, NC.
Hundreds of log truck drivers were offered a brief safety meeting through FMIC and Vestige while they waited to
enter the manufacturing facility. Then on the way out, Jordan Lumber provided log truck drivers a free lunch. We hope these efforts, and more in the future, show our deep appreciation
for those working this incredibly challenging job to keep our supply chain humming along.
