We are a collection
of voices.
If you were to look behind the scenes at the NCFA, you’d witness any one of our team members engaged in a variety of activities that further our organization’s mission of ensuring healthy, productive, and sustainable forests. Whether it’s building a new
forestry curriculum for high school students, creating the tools and materials needed to provide continued education for loggers, developing and executing communications plans to enhance the voice of forestry across the state, or keeping the organization running smoothly — we keep our mission and our members at the forefront of all we do.
This includes our boots-on-the-ground approach to advocacy efforts related to legislation that protects the interests of the North Carolina forestry industry. At the NCFA, we are consistently engaged with our counterparts — including elected and appointed officials, other associations, and members of the forestry industry — regarding issues that matter most to our members and our industry. Issues such as environmental regulations, taxation, tort reform, and workers’ compensation reform are just a few examples of legislation where we work with other aligned interests to ensure that our state has a good environment for businesses to not just survive but thrive.
At the national level, issues such as the recent European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) are just two examples of legislation we continue to make progress on behind the scenes with our counterparts across the U.S. and in D.C.
To this end, I cannot stress enough the importance of strategic collaboration with our peers at the local and national levels. Our collective voice is a testament to the strength
of our whole industry coming together to advocate for sound decisions that will allow the forestry industry to operate efficiently. We are proud to represent this collective voice and are dedicated to continuous collaboration in the interests of our members.
Our team is committed to keeping our members informed as updates on industry- related issues become available. I encourage you to stay connected by reading our weekly newsletter, Zipline, which is emailed to all members each Wednesday. You can refer to the Zipline and targeted member emails for timely updates regarding these matters.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My door is always open.
