TEACHERS EXPERIENCE
Discover the forests in our state and learn about the wood products industry!
The Sustainable Forestry Teachers Experience (SFTE)
is a professional development experience for STEM educators. This is an overnight program. Lodging, meals, and transportation between field trips during the program are provided.

Do you know a teacher? As a member of the NCFA, you can sponsor a teacher for SFTE. This experience is a three-day event that shows teachers and educators how to incorporate forestry into their lesson plans. Participants get to tour various aspects of the timber and wood manufacturing industry.

Program
The Forest Education and Conservation Foundation (FECF) is proud to offer a scholarship program to students pursuing a forestry and/or forest products career in the state of North Carolina. The FECF encourages the wise use and management of North Carolina’s forests through education outreach to students and teachers, continuing education initiatives with forestry professionals, and promotion campaigns designed to educate the public.
Winners are invited to attend a recognition ceremony during the North Carolina Forestry Association Annual Meeting in Greensboro, NC on September 30, 2022. Lodging for winners will be sponsored.
