    NOTABLE EVENTS
Mid-Atlantic Logging, Biomass, & Landworks Expo
Bi-annually, the NCFA and Carolina Loggers Association co-sponsor the Mid-Atlantic Logging, Biomass, & Landworks Expo. In April of this year, we held a successful event featuring numerous vendors, Lumberjack Sports, a Pig Picking Dinner, and a Bluegrass band. The 2022 Expo was a huge success! Thanks to
all those who volunteered for this special event.

   Western Regional Meeting
The NCFA held this meeting on March 17, 2022 at the Lake Logan Retreat Center in Canton, NC. We had 44 attendees and a stellar, packed agenda that featured: James Melonas from the US Forest Service talking about “A New Era of
Stewardship for the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests,” Dana Cole from the Hardwood Federation discussing the federation’s legislative priorities, and Peter Thornton from the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services discussing “North Carolina Forest Products Exports.” The afternoon ended with a presentation from both Tom Inman from Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers and Ann Liebenstein Bass from the Appalachian Regional Commission, who provided details about grants for individuals in western NC.
