On behalf of the Medical Society of Delaware, I would like to extend a hearty congratulations to all of
my colleagues who are proud recipients of the Delaware Today Top Doctors 2019 Award! This honor is well-deserved and comes with more than just bragging rights; it comes with the knowledge
that you have made an impact in your profession and have gained the respect of your peers as well as the many patients you help on a daily basis.
I am proud to say that this year, 235 MSD members received the Top Doctors Award — a record! Of that impressive previously served or currently serve on a committee or in leadership within MSD. The Medical Society of Delaware could not make the impact it does if it weren’t for our active and dynamic membership.
Thank you to everyone who contributes
and with their patients, but helping move the needle to make a difference for all physicians practicing medicine in the state of Delaware.
This year, our members lobbied side
by side on issues affecting prior authorization, step therapy, medication assisted treatment, primary care reimbursement, underage smoking, and childhood obesity, and worked overtime to make health care more accessible
and affordable for all Delawareans. We are grateful to all those who showed up faithfully to Legislative Hall when called to action on these and other important issues.
Our members sit on committees that help guide reform for primary care reimbursement, help with prison reform, help build education programs for children in schools, and help make
position statements on important issues like physician-assisted suicide and legalization of recreational marijuana. The time our physicians dedicate to
these worthy initiatives is well-spent and greatly valued by the community at large.
