MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A PATIENT’S LIFE JOIN THE VIP TEAM
The Voluntary Initiative Program (VIP), administered by the
Medical Society of Delaware, is a network of Delaware primary care and specialty physicians who offer their medical services at a reduced fee or no fee to uninsured Delawareans. The fee scale is decided by each participating physician and each
physician decides how many patients they will accept.
To qualify for the VIP program, patients are living at or below 200% the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), are not eligible for Medicaid or are exempt/ineligible for the Healthcare Marketplace. These patients are enrolled in the Division of Public Health’s Health Care Connection program
which works in partnership with the VIP program.
IS MY PRACTICE INFORMATION SECURE?
The Medical Society of Delaware has taken steps to safeguard your participation in VIP.
Your participation is anonymous to the public. Your registration information is entered into
a database owned and housed at the Medical Society of Delaware and only the VIP coordinators have access to who actually participates in VIP.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE ONCE I HAVE REGISTERED?
A VIP Care Coordinator assigns all primary care providers and makes all specialty referral
as lab work and x-rays.
A Pharmacy Coordinator assists with locating medications at a reduced price or at no cost. We also refer to a diabetes program that provides free meters and discounted testing supplies as well as a smoking cessation program that assists patients with accessing discounted or no cost cessation medications.
