MSD Physician-Assisted Suicide Survey Results

• Survey sent out through Constant Contact on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 5:30 a.m. with weblink to Survey Monkey.
Survey closed at end of business (5:00 p.m.) on Thursday, April 19, 2018 (one-week window to take the survey). Follow-up communication to encourage participation in the survey was sent through MSD’s weekly online newsletter, eNews and Views.
• There were 950 successful deliveries of the email communication (sent to 960 members with 10 email bounce-backs). The communication was sent to residents, retired members and those dues-paying members whose dues were paid as of April 11, 2018.
• Of the 950 successful email deliveries, 608 did not open the communication, equating to 342 opening the communication for a 36% open rate (46.7% opened from a desktop and 53.3% opened from a mobile device).
• Of those who opened the email communication, 145 clicked through to the survey; however, there were 141 who actually took the survey. Of those who opened the communication (342) and those who took the survey (141), there was a 41% response rate. Of those emails that were successfully delivered (950) and those that took the survey by clicking from the opened email communication (141), there was an overall 15% response rate.
