Hospital News BAYHEALTH
BAYHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER, INC. received a $2,500 grant from
the Walmart Distribution Center in Smyrna to pay for clothing
and other items to stock its Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet provides new sweatpants, sweatshirts and t-shirts to needy patients upon their discharge. Approximately 400 patients benefit from the program each year.
BEEBE HEALTHCARE
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware has recognized BEEBE HEALTHCARE for its maternity care. The hospital received the insurance company’s “Blue Distinction,” which honors hospitals that improve patient safety and achieve better health outcomes.
The Blue Distinction Centers+ for Maternity Care program grades hospitals on quality measures for vaginal and cesarean delivery, as well as cost efficiency.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM was recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals of Healthgrades. The distinction places Christiana Care in the top 2% of nearly 5,000 hospitals assessed nationwide for its consistent, year-over-year clinical performance. This is the second consecutive year Christiana Care has received the ranking.

the Department of Emergency Medicine at Christiana Care Health Systems. Dr. Powell will also serve as the Associate Leader of the Acute Medicine Service Line.
