   Take Your Pick

ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO BOND WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY IS A DAY IN THE COUNTRY, WHETHER YOU’RE PICKING FRUIT, GOING FOR A HAYRIDE, VISITING WITH FARM ANIMALS OR BROWSING RURAL STORES AND MARKETS TOGETHER.
There are plenty of places to browse for Amish goods, such as handcrafted furniture, fabrics and clothing, fresh produce, baked goods, home décor and handmade quilts. Highlights include Rose Valley Furniture, Shady Lane Selec- tions for fabric, or Yoder’s Green- house supplies. Rose Valley Greenhouse
is a must-visit for gardeners, with

plants and harvest decorations.
If you have time for just one stop, make it Spence’s Bazaar, Auction & Flea Market. Year-round, indoor and outdoor vendors sell Amish food and treats — such as home- made ice cream, sausages, breads, jams and pastries — as well as household goods, books, collect- ibles, clothing and purses.
Visiting in September? We invite you to join us for the Amish Country Bike Tour! More informa- tion is on page 17 or at bikede.org/ amish-country-bike-tour.
Explore Amish
Country
The scenic countryside west of Dover is a wonderful place to roam. As you travel the winding lanes here, you might well encounter a horse and buggy, as this area of Kent County is home to a vibrant Amish community.
