9. Take yourself on a tour of Kent County’s many craft breweries, wineries and distilleries! We’ve put
together a Good Libations tour that leads you to all our favorite spots. (Learn more on page 40.)
10. Practice your swing at Garrison’s Lake Golf Club where you can enjoy a newly renovated champi-
onship golf course. Whether on the 18-hole course or the driving range, you’re sure to tee up some excitement.
11. Engage with our nation’s complex early history at John Dickinson Plantation, which shares the
stories of enslaved and free Black people living at the childhood home of a Founding Father.
12. Race or watch the bikes zoom around the track at First State BMX, one of the largest tracks
sanctioned by USA BMX at just under a quarter mile.
13. Splurge on gifts from some of our local bou- tiques, such as BLUvintage or Tina’s Timeless Threads. In Delaware, there’s no sales tax, so you’re
guaranteed some bargains!
14. Enjoy a performance at the historic Smyrna Opera House, built in 1870 and fully restored.
Check the website for upcoming events, including symphonic concerts and tribute bands.
15. Add to your birding count at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. It’s home to nearly
300 species of birds, so you’re almost guaranteed rare sightings year-round. Not a bird fan? Bombay Hook is a great spot for hiking, biking and photography too.
16. Take a trip to Amish country! Just outside Dover, -

17. Observe some horseshoe crabs along our shores! In May and June, thousands of them crawl ashore to lay
their eggs at high tide, as they have for 450 million years.
18. Walk in Harriet Tubman’s footsteps along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway.

19. Visit Dover AFB’s Air Mobility Command Museum, or watch planes take to the skies at the biannual
Thunder Over Dover.
20. Take time to stop at each one of Delaware’s Quaint Villages for at least a couple of hours!
Dover, Smyrna, Harrington, Milford and so many others are all well worth a visit.
