BET ON
DELAWARE
Delaware’s many benefits have drawn the attention of several out-of-state companies lately. Here are just a few examples of
recent notable investments:

AMAZON
The e-commerce giant is set to open a distribution center at the former General Motors Boxwood site. With 3.8 million square feet across five levels, it’s the largest building ever constructed in Delaware. Opening is slated for July,
and Amazon has signed a 20-year lease, with five options to renew for another five years, meaning Amazon could occupy the site until 2066.
FARMERS OF SALEM
This New Jersey-based insurance company is relocating to Wilmington this year and planning to bring
52 jobs to the city’s central business district. Farmers estimates adding an additional five jobs over the following three years. The company plans to invest close to $5.6 million in the purchase and renovation of an existing Wilmington office building.
DELMARVA CORRUGATED PACKAGING
The packaging company has plans to build an $80 million corrugated cardboard box manufacturing plant near Dover, a move that will relocate the company’s longstanding New Jersey production capacity to the First State. Once the 497,000-square-foot plant is operational, likely
by the end of the year, it will create 159 jobs in Delaware.
