But the location also provides lifestyle advantages, as residents can live in a semi-rural environment with access to major urban areas. Philadelphia is just minutes away, and Washington, D.C. and New York City each are less than two hours.
Yet many businesses have preferred to locate in the smaller towns and cities downstate for a more relaxed lifestyle amid a traditional architectural backdrop. Plus, those locations put employees closer to two of the state’s major tourist attractions — the beautiful Delaware beaches on the Atlantic and the nearby ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay.
