Don’t Lose Your Pine Plantation to Root Disease
Heterobasidion Root Disease (formerly known as Fomes Root Rot ) causes root rot in conifers which leads to growth loss and mortality. In the southeastern United States, the disease infects loblolly, longleaf, pitch, shortleaf, slash, Virginia, and white pine, as well as eastern red cedar and incense cedar. The disease can result in pre-mature harvesting or clear cutting, which can lead to significant economic loss.
Signs and Symptoms of Heterobasidion Root Disease include:
“Popcorn” Shelf-like Rotten Resin-soaked Mortality fruiting bodies conks sinker roots & decayed roots centers
The Solution
RotstopTM C is a proven solution in preventing Heterobasidion Root Disease in conifer plantations. It is a fungicide that grows into the stump and prevents the disease from becoming established. Rotstop C is easy to use and applied using a spray system directly to the stump after felling.
TREATED
RotstopTM C grows into the stump
Unlike other treatment options, Rotstop C:
UNTREATED
Root disease grows into the stump spreading via root system
and via conks & fruiting bodies
Prevents the disease from becoming established
• Naturally decomposes dead wood, aiding in the decay of freshly cut stumps. Other treatment options can act as a wood preservative increasing the time it takes for stumps to naturally decompose.
• Does not require mixing throughout the day • Is not abrasive to the spray system
