Simon Pearce Factory Outlet & Glassblowing
(garrettarts.org/the-gallery-shop) is a great first stop in the district. It’s open Mondays through Saturdays (in season), and there is a second seasonal pop-up location with Friday and Saturday hours in Grantsville.
Beautifully made glass art from Simon Pearce Factory Outlet & Glassblowing (simonpearce.com/pages/our-stores- oakland-md) is another artistic souvenir that’s sure to leave an impression with friends and family.
If you prefer to do your own crafting, Four Seasons Stitchery (4seasonsstitchery.com) in Grantsville has a wide variety of quilting fabrics and specialty threads. Classes in quilting and dimensional embroidery are also available.
The performing arts have a lively presence in Garrett County as well. Our Town Theatre (ourtowntheatre.org) in Oakland puts
on regular plays designed to inspire the imagination of locals and visitors alike. Recent performances have included The Odd Couple and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Lovers of the stage will also want to take note of the Garrett Lakes Arts Festival (GLAF, artsandentertainment.org),
which puts on theater, dance and musical performances at the Performing Arts Center (performingartsgc.com) at Garrett College. The PAC stages cultural events all year, so make sure to check the website for upcoming dates.
For additional opportunities to hear beautiful music, consult the schedules of
the Garrett Community Concert Band (facebook.com/GarrettConcertBand) and the Garrett Choral Society (facebook.com/ GarrettChoralSociety). Lovers of classical music will also appreciate Music at Penn Alps (musicatpennalps.org), a concert series with a focus on chamber ensembles and recitals performed by local artists.

a silent auction and more. Premium wine tastings take place the night before the festival. Proceeds benefit the animal rescue organization.
The Garrett County Celtic Festival (gccelticfestival.com) celebrates the heritage, music, arts and culture of the Appalachian immigrants from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Brittany. The 2024 celebration has already been scheduled for Saturday, June 1.
