Before You Visit:
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
GARRETT COUNTY IS IMPLEMENTING BEST PRACTICES TO REDUCE THE RISK OF COVID-19. WE ASK THAT OUR VISITORS FOLLOW THE PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE:
• Bring grocery items, paper and cleaning products with you, since there may be local shortages of certain products due to the pandemic.
• Please practice social distancing throughout your visit to Garrett County.
• A face covering may be required in all indoor establishments, including the public spaces of all businesses and in outdoor public areas where distancing is not possible.
• Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly.
• If you feel ill with COVID-19 symptoms, please self-isolate.
• Respect the employees of local establishments and be compassionate, as many businesses are short-staffed due to COVID.
• If you have questions regarding COVID-19 while visiting Garrett County, you can call the Garrett County COVID-19 Hotline at 301.334.7698.
• Please notify the property manager or owner of your
rental property if you test positive for COVID-19 or develop signs and symptoms of the virus before checking out, so that housekeeping staff and the Garrett County Health Department can be notified promptly.
Area establishments have adopted a variety of safety protocols to help stop the spread of COVID-19. During
your visit, you may notice some establishments have
capacity limitations and have added a variety of low-touch procedures, including contact-free check in, outdoor seating (when weather permits), curbside pickup/delivery, contactless payment options, hand sanitizer available in common areas, complimentary masks (when available), disposable menus, and floor stickers noting where to stand to be six feet apart from other guests, among others.
