Third Street Diner (facebook. com/3rdstreetdiner) offers daily specials that make it a great
stop for a casual midday meal. Popular options include roast beef sandwiches and fried pork chops. Ask for the daily soup special! Speaking of soups, try the homemade soup bar at The Casselman Bakery and Café (casselmanbakery.com), which
is also worth a visit for its freshly baked bread and pastry options. Need more options to satisfy your sweet tooth? We recommend the donuts, cakes and pies at Heidi’s Bakery & Café (facebook.com/ heidisbakeryandcafe)!
Other options for your well- deserved vacation treats include Lakeside Creamery (lakesidecreamery.com), which serves up delicious scoops

Arts and Crafts
For one-of-a-kind, handmade keepsakes, the Garrett County Arts Council’s Gallery Shop (garrettarts.org) in Oakland
is a great first stop. It’s open Wednesdays through Saturdays.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, private artist appointments offer a personal touch for your shopping experience. The shop is at the heart of one
of Garrett County’s two state- designated Arts & Entertainment Districts. (For a complete list

The county’s other A&E District is in Grantsville (grantsvilleaedistrict. com). At its heart sits the
Spruce Forest Artisan Village (spruceforest.org), a cluster of
log cabins that serve as galleries, shops and workspaces. The annual Christmas in the Village is among the area’s most popular events. Another must-stop for local crafts is Penn Alps Restaurant & Craft Shop (pennalps.com), whose store
