the Madam Brett Homestead is the oldest house in Dutchess County. The Van Wyck Homestead Museum has colonial-era artifacts and exhibits about Fishkill’s important role in the Revolutionary War, Dutch architecture and local history. The homestead
was used by the Continental Army
as the Officer’s Quarters for the Fishkill Supply Depot, a key strategic center visited repeatedly by George Washington. Explore a variety of historic buildings preserved by the East Fishkill Historical Society at the Brinckerhoff House Historic Site, including a 1750-1785 Dutch-style farmhouse, ice house, carriage barn, blacksmith shop and schoolhouse. On the Signature Experience tour at the Mesier Homestead and Museum in Wappingers Falls, discover the story of Tory loyalist Peter Mesier, view the Victorian Era-styled rooms and see
a collection of local antiquities and Native American artifacts.
