of care, population health management and
an emphasis on wellness and preventative care. CKHS includes five hospitals: Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Taylor Hospital, Springfield Hospital and Community Hospital. In addition, the health system has several outpatient centers and now two urgent-care locations. In 2017, Crozer-Chester
Medical Center earned a six-year re- accreditation from the Pennsylvania
Medical Society to provide continuing medical education
courses to physicians and allied health professionals.
Main Line Health includes four of the most
respected acute-care hospitals in the region: Lankenau
Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital. Main Line Health also includes
Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital — one of the nation’s premier facilities for rehabilitative medicine – which recently opened the Lori Beth Brodsky Pediatric Wing, named in memory
of the daughter of longtime Main Line Health benefactor Mrs. Barbara (Bobbi) Brodsky. The $1.6 million renovation included upgraded hallways, lighting and flooring, flat screen televisions and an Xbox One video game system.
Delaware County is also home to some of the best children’s hospitals and community service
providers in the country. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has been at the forefront of pediatric care since 1855. Through the years, CHOP has fostered medical discoveries and saved the lives of numerous children. CHOP takes pride in knowing that families from all over the world seek out the hospital for care only it can provide. The CHOP Care Network runs through Delaware County with locations from Drexel Hill to the new Urgent Care, Specialty and Surgery Center in Glen Mills. CHOP was ranked as one of the country’s finest pediatric health care providers in the 2017–18 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals, recognition that it continues to earn year after year.
The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children opened in 1940 as a pediatric orthopedic institute and has evolved into a world-renowned full-service children’s hospital that helps families from around the world. Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children received recognition for its work in nine pediatric specialties in the 2017–18 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Nemours has a few pediatric offices that have opened up over the last few years, stemming from Delaware.
Elwyn has been in operation since 1852, when it opened as one of the nation’s first schools for children with intellectual disabilities. Elwyn continues to be at the forefront of developing unique, innovative services for people with
