Role in Pandemic, Emerging Stronger Than Ever Before

As the Westchester business community faced unprecedented challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Business Council of Westchester (BCW) stepped forward in 2020 in a leadership role as an advocate and valuable resource of information, connector and problem solver serving all levels of business and the greater community.
The BCW held a myriad of networking events, webinars, council meetings and informational programs to help members deal with issues such as how to apply for grants and loans as well information on employment and essential services. The BCW showcased the hard work and grit of its members who, as COVID Heroes, showed their commitment to community and each other during the pandemic.
Faced with an economic collapse unlike anything experienced in recent memory, the Business Council of Westchester quickly adapted
to this new and demanding world. Through a great deal of work and creative thinking, the BCW continued to provide its membership with valuable programs and opportunities to grow their businesses. The BCW’s membership continued to grow as it welcomed more than 130 new members in 2020.
Throughout the year, the BCW held more than 100 virtual Zoom programs and events, including popular signature events such as Hall of Fame, Rising Stars and the Annual Meeting, which featured the Presidents and CEOs of the region’s major health care systems.
The BCW’s Political Leadership Series featured a virtual debate between the candidates vying for the 17th Congressional District seat held by retiring Congresswoman Nita Lowey. More than 400 members tuned in. Other Political Leadership Series events held virtually featured Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, State Attorney General
