What It Means to Live Intergenerationally
The idea of bringing many different generations together and interacting on a regular basis
is one that often has enormous people. In fact, in the U.S. and Europe, several cutting-edge intergenerational co-living commu- nities have had tremendous impacts on the lives of both young and old.
Older people enjoy sharing their experiences with and having companionship with younger generations. In turn, young people can learn valuable life lessons from older adults and often enjoy having more people around them who may take a genuine interest in their lives and wellbeing.
Benchmark at Mount Pleasant is committed to helping people of all ages uncover what they have in com- mon. Through a unique location near several schools as well as carefully designed on-site amenities, features and programs, Benchmark aims to facilitate bonding moments among
family members while fostering new relationships.
From chefs that entertain with their cooking to activities like movies and cards offered in dedicated spaces, the design is one that has been created to engage all ages. Families can also enjoy using the community for special occasions, including the opportunity to host celebrations in the private dining room, and have their event catered.
At other Benchmark communities, partnerships with schools and places of worship have been incred- ibly rewarding, bringing together everyone from toddlers through high school students and providing residents with a sense of purpose. Intergenerational offerings centered around the arts, charitable giving, mentorship and more will be a regu- lar part of a full social calendar.
Benchmark at Mount Pleasant is excited to help continue to grow relationships between generations for years to come.
