Located near the border of Baltimore City and Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is well- prepared to handle the most complex cases: it houses Maryland’s only regional burn center, a Level II trauma center and
a pediatric center for emergency care. In addition, the medical center offers primary care and specialty care in more than 30 disciplines. (While Bayview sits near the eastern city/county line, Ascension St. Agnes Hospital can be found at the western border.)

University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson is a Catholic acute care hospital licensed for 218 beds that is committed to compassionate care for all. St. Joseph is known for its high safety standards, which have earned it an “A” rating from national watchdog The Leapfrog Group for each of the past five years. The hospital has also earned recognition
for its efforts to improve cardiovascular treatment. In 2021 alone, St. Joseph
earned three American Heart Association Achievement Awards for its implementation of quality improvement measures related to cardiovascular care.
In addition to St. Joseph, the University
of Maryland operates UM Urgent
Care centers in Dundalk and Phoenix. ExpressCare, another urgent care provider, has locations in Dundalk, Essex, Towson, Middle River, Randallstown, Overlea, Owings Mills, Cockeysville and Parkville.
In the White Marsh/Nottingham area, the Priority Care Clinic walk-in center provides an additional urgent care option.

Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, affiliated with LifeBridge Health, is a 254- bed nonprofit hospital that aims to make high-quality care affordable and accessible to all. The hospital is designed according to the Friesen concept, meaning that all patient rooms are private and nurses are assigned to smaller units, so as to ensure that they can spend more time with each patient.
The Baltimore County Department of Health operates health and resource centers throughout the county, offering substance use counseling, child and maternal health care, behavioral/mental health treatment, reproductive and sexual health services, and transportation assistance.
Baltimore County’s seniors have a wide variety of healthcare options at their disposal. Local assisted-living options include Brightview Assisted Living and Commonwealth Senior Living, while HomeWell Care Services and Home Helpers Home Care are among the providers helping Baltimore County residents age in place.
