Bravo to prominent Philadelphia Attorney George Bechetto, the world is watching him defending
the rights of Italian Americans preserving their culture. A recent favorable ruling from Judge Paula Patrick: “It is baffling to this Court as to how the City of Phila wants
to remove the Statue without any legal basis. The City’s entire argument & case is devoid of any legal foundation.” According to Richard Cedrone, Pres. Friends of Marconi Plaza, “We still don’t believe it stands for anything against any other culture. That’s not our message.” Mayor Kinney is filing an appeal. Italian service clubs & individuals are encouraged to donate to Bochetto’s pro-bono efforts 215-735-3900.
Italian Parade - October 10, 2021
Pete Ciarrocchi, founder of Chickie & Pete’s, reports the parade will go on with a slight change in time, 2PM. Televised on WPVI-TV 6, it’s delayed due to the 8am rescheduling of The Broad Street Run.
