Chapter 15 ~ Daddy, Please Don’t
An excerpt from Fearless in Heels
Chapter 15, his aggressive, masculine pride consumed him as he destroyed her. She lost herself, one small
piece at a time, and was left broken. She took his threats seriously but stayed because leaving was too dangerous. She tossed and turned every night and fantasize about her escape.
Their young son watched the abuse from behind his bedroom door, from under his bed and from inside their closet. When all hell broke loose, Daddy chased Mommy and then threw her face-first into the stove. Mommy’s little boy rushed to comfort her and bravely said, “I’ll clean you up mommy”. He grabbed a bag of
it causes. The traumatic events that he witnessed impacted the way that he coped and healed.
He became the monster that his father was, his young daughters peeking through the spindles of the railing as they watched the blood slowly leak from Mommy’s nose and skull, while Daddy begged her to wake up.
Calmly, they pulled out
peas from the freezer and said “hold this on your face just like on the TV commercials and I will
walk you to bed.”
He remained her protector for as long
as he could and he vowed “I’ll be a good father and husband someday, nothing
like him.” Unfortunately, he did not break the cycle of
violence, he remained

AN UPDATE FROM AUTHOR KATHY PIPERNO
Many virtues are passed down through generations but certain vices, like physical abuse, may also pass through the generations and cause generational trauma. It can be silent, or inadvertently taught as children witness adult behaviors. Consequently, they suffer with anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, nightmares and low self-esteem.
With Delaware County Court held during COVID for Protection from Abuse only cases, the numbers sadly, averaged more than 200 cases per week, with 5 judges, in 5 different court-rooms, rendering decisions.
