South Philly business owner
and butcher Joseph Criniti
Italian-American Herald
Joseph Criniti, longtime owner of Criniti’s Prime Meats on South 10th Street Meat Market and a well-respected businessman
in South Philadelphia’s Italian Community, passed away on Jan. 3.
Mr. Criniti’s lifelong companion was the late Marie Brooks. He was the beloved son of the late Vincenzo and Maria Criniti. He is survived by his brothers Pasquale (Caterina) Criniti, Peter Criniti, Bruno Criniti, Frank (Linda) Criniti, Anthony (Cass) Criniti and Rosa (Joseph) Jefferson; and sister-in-law Josephine Criniti. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Following a funeral Mass on Jan. 9 at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Joseph Criniti was laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pennsylvania. IAH

The third annual “Carnevale” presented by the UNICO Delmarva Chapter will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, at the Salt Pond Community Center in Bethany Beach. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per person, include an Italian-style buffet, one free drink and a cash bar. Live music and vocals will feature Vince Varrassi.
Proceeds will benefit local Delaware charities and Italian Studies (a UNICO National Foundation Charity).
