The First State’s tourism industry contributed $4 billion in gross domestic product in 2021 and supported 47,760 employees in the state. As the chief marketer for the state, Jessica Welch leads the way in best telling Delaware’s story to the nation. As a lifelong Delawarean who has lived in all three counties, Welch was appointed in 2022, right when Delaware’s visibility continues to fly high thanks to President Joe Biden’s continued trips home and the PGA Tour BMW Championship that brought thousands of people to Wilmington. She is tasked with launching marketing campaigns and year-round efforts
to bring sports events to the state, working with local businesses and government to heighten their appeal.

Delaware River Bay Authority
The Delaware River Bay Authority operates three airports in Delaware, including the Wilmington
Airport, the Delaware Airpark, and the Civil Air Terminal in Dover. As the third Deputy Executive Director of the organization, Stephen Williams
is tasked to focus on economic development initiatives and was critical to the return of commercial air flights with Avelo flying out of the 1,250 acre Wilmington Airport. Williams
has more than 40 years of airport
and transportation management experience, including 11 years as the airport manager of Republic Airport in Farmingdale, Long Island - the fourth busiest in New York.
