Chesapeake Utilities
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is
an energy company with natural gas
transmission and distribution lines
as well as electricity generation and
distribution, propane gas distribution
and more. Th e company owns 3,330
miles of mains and serves about
220,000 residential, industrial, and
commercial customers through seven
states. Since 2019, Jeff Householder
has been at the helm of the company,
leading several acquisitions such
as Elkton Gas, Boulden Brothers
Propane, Hernado Gas. Th e most
recent acquisition of Florida City Gas is
the largest acquisition in Chesapeake
Utilities’ history, and more than
doubled the company’s customer
base and natural gas infrastructure in
Florida. Householder has more than
40 years of experience in the energy
sector, holding leadership positions
in TECO Energy Peoples Gas, West
Florida Gas Company, Florida City Gas,
and Tallahassee Utilities.
Drew Slater
Sustainable Energy Utility
(Energize Delaware)
Andrew “Drew” Slater was named
the leader of Energize Delaware
in early 2023, tasked with leading
the nonprofi t that aids residents,
businesses, nonprofi ts, government
facilities, farms and schools to become
energy effi cient. Before becoming the
second executive director of Energize
Delaware, Slater built a resume of 20
years of experience in various roles,
such as Delaware’s Public Advocate,
then-Rep. John Carney’s Kent and
Sussex coordinator and legislative
assistant for the State Senate. In
his work with the Offi ce of Public
Advocate, he worked to strengthen the
state’s Renewable Portfolio Standards
and the competition of the Artifi cial
Island project to improve reliability for
the electric grid.
