a better place.
HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
Over one hundred years ago, the first Girl Scout troop was founded on the Delmarva Peninsula. With more than 3,900 girls supported by 1,600 adult volunteers,
Year established: 1962 Annual revenue: $4.5 Million Geographic service area: Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Eastern Shores of Maryland and Virginia)
Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay helps
girls discover their strengths, passions,
and talents. The Girl Scout Leadership
Experience is based on four program
pillars: STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and
Entrepreneurship. Additionally, we are
emphasizing areas that are critical to girls’ success right now: supporting girls’ mental health, facilitating girls connection with nature and the outdoors, and helping girls reflect the values of justice and fairness. We continue to deliver free, hands-on activities to Girl Scouts across our footprint with our mobile programming option, Program on the Move, as well as traditional troop or individual participation and in-person or virtual event experiences.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
There are many ways you can invest in girls and help them change the world. With your support, we can bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls across our footprint. For more details, visit GSCB.org.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Girls are blazing trails and changing the world in big ways, but they are not doing it alone. Whether you are cheering her on or giving advice, you can be the person in her corner. Adult volunteers like you are needed to lead troops, be mentors, provide outdoor experiences, share expertise in entrepreneurship and STEM, and engage in community service projects. Volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible, training is provided, and you will be creating memories that will last a lifetime.
